Hi there and a warm hello,
I’m here to walk alongside you.
As a Therapeutic Social Worker (AASW), we will work pragmatically and systemically together to consider, from your strengths, ways to find balance, in supporting you best feel safe and grounded in who you are, in the world that surrounds you.
With experience working in community outreach, those navigating the mental health and NDIS systems, EAP, as well as supporting future practitioners as university social work educator, I hold the privilege of having learnt through experiences shared with me, and look forward to gently learning about yours.
Through our work together, I offer you a space where your experience is valid, and will walk alongside you, as you find and redefine what balance might mean for you, in this moment.

Where we might be a good fit:
-
People either newly diagnosed and/or wanting to explore Neurodivergence.
-
People who've had big things happen to them in life (sometimes considered trauma - emotional wounding)
-
Complex workplace issues
-
People of colour
-
High-performing women
-
Men looking to connect more deeply with themselves and others
-
LGBTQIA+ people
-
Victim-Survivors of Family Domestic and/or Intimate Partner Violence

Approach:
-
Compassionate, warm and grounding.
-
A blended approach with the body and mind e.g. talk therapy (CBT) and/or psychosomatic therapies (DBT, IFS).
-
Biopsychosocial lens; biological systems, psychological experiences and social spheres of importance to you.
-
Systems-lens: an understanding of complex systems such as workplaces, the NDIS, community and hospital recovery, and city and regional settings.
Experience:
My background is in EAP & Redundancy Support, Neurodivergence / Neuro-affirming Support, Community Mental Health Care (Community Outreach and in Hospitals), Disability and in Metro & Regional areas.
I have over 15+ years working in the government and non-government and private sectors in both clinical/therapeutic and policy-based practice.

As a human:
I'm originally from Wangal Land (North Strathfield, NSW). I now live and play on the lands of the Stoney Creek Nation (near Launceston, TAS).
In balancing my passion in connecting with others, I value time in nature (i.e. hiking, trail running and swimming), reading and having meaningful conversations with family and friends, supporting my own sense of balance and equanimity.
I look forward to connecting and walking alongside you, in finding your balance.
With warmth and kindness,
Bec
